PSF 2017 – Dog Mountain, Ladies & Gentlemen, My First Sketch
April 20 @ 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Philly Sketchfest’s (PSF) goal is to entertain audiences, support the growth of Philadelphia’s comedy community, and celebrate national and international sketch groups with unique shows, performers, and panels.
Dog Mountain is a Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) Sketch House Team. Their surreal, character-driven sketches have been featured at Chicago SketchFest, New Orleans’ Hell Yes Fest, The North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival (NCCAF), and Philly Sketchfest.
The group was formed in 2012 and is currently comprised of Carl Buccoti (director), Joe Moore (head writer), Jim Grammond, Julia Hudson, Trevor Miles, RJ Payne, Steve Swan and Ashlee Rose Toll.
Ladies and Gentlemen
Ladies & Gentlemen (Daniel Carin & Chris Sandiford) are Montreal-based comedians/writers/actors who have performed at various sketch festivals including San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, as well as Seattle, where they won the ‘Best Visiting Troupe’ award and Montreal, where they’ve won both the ‘Best Local Troupe’ and the ‘Just For Laughs’ awards.
They’ve also been featured at MprovFest, LadyFest, Zoofest, and the Just For Laughs festival, performing both sketch and their long-running stand-up show, ‘The Ladies & Gentlemen Comedy Show’, which was voted #1 comedy show by newspaper CultMontreal two years in a row.
My First Sketch LIVE hosted by Joshua Higham
Every sketch comedy writer has their first sketch, whether it was written as a teenager ripping off SNL, in a sketch writing class learning what a fish does out of water, or maybe even trying to impress somebody (you know, like they said in that movie where they stand on desks). My First Sketch allows writers to blow the dust off an old sketch that may have never seen the light of stage and see how their voice has changed since then in a safe place. We’re laughing with you, not at you.
