Tonight! – Philly Sketchfest 2017 featuring Sweetish, Friends with Names, & The Prince
April 23 @ 8:30 pm - 11:30 pm
Join us for the FINAL NIGHT of Philly Sketchfest 2017, featuring Sweetish, Friends with Names, & The Prince at Underground Arts
Philly Sketchfest’s (PSF) goal is to entertain audiences, support the growth of Philadelphia’s comedy community, and celebrate national and international sketch groups with unique shows, performers, and panels.
Assembling at random to compete in a live comedy game show, Bobby Lang, Julia Hudson, Maura Pennington, Erik Sojka, and Brian Craig formed Sweetish in Philadelphia in 2014. Realizing a shared love for puppets, puns, and fine Italian dining, they began meeting weekly to eat dinner, exchange ‘hot goss’, and occasionally get around to writing comedy. They perform monthly in and around Philadelphia, and have appeared on stages along the east coast, including Philly Sketchfest and Charm City Comedy Festival in Baltimore.
Also, they totally won that game show.
Friends With Names
(New York City, New York)
Friends with Names is a NYC-based sketch group made up of some handsome boys and a lady whose faces have appeared in the Philadelphia Improv Theater, The Rochester Fringe, The Annoyance Theatre, The Armory, Upright Citizens Brigade, the People’s Improv Theater, Magnet Theater, Adam Wade’s Story-Telling Hour, and the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. Their words have appeared in the Hard Times, the New York Times, Above Average and regional bridal magazines. We’ll let you guess who’s done what.
Friends With Names is a group of friends who brunch and make sketch comedy videos together in New York City. Their names are Kyle Erf, Phoebe Lett, Fernando Maldonado, Tom Powers, and Morgan Williams.
Who exactly is The Prince? Join Jamie and Frank as they fly by the seats of their pants through a rag-tag collection of over the top characters fighting tooth and nail for their stupid little piece of the world. There will be mischief, kissing, and we just might find who here is really The Prince.
Jamie and Frank have been writing and performing comedy together for 7ish years only to finally assume the identity of The Prince in shows at venues all around Philadelphia including Hey, We’re Cool at L’etage, Philly Improv Theater (PHIT), Good Good Comedy and Philly Sketchfest! They made their debut outside the great state of Pennsylvania this March at LaughFest in Grand Rapids, MI.
