April 23 @ 10:00 pm - 1:00 am
Join us for the FINAL NIGHT of Philly Sketchfest 2017, featuring Incredible Shrinking Matt & Jacquie, House of Solitude, & Adventure Friends at Underground Arts
Philly Sketchfest’s (PSF) goal is to entertain audiences, support the growth of Philadelphia’s comedy community, and celebrate national and international sketch groups with unique shows, performers, and panels.
The Incredible Shrinking Matt & Jacquie
The Incredible Shrinking Matt & Jacquie is a best friend sketch comedy duo from Philadelphia that consists of Matthew Schmid and Jacquie Baker. Matt & Jacquie’s dark, absurd, and surprisingly genuine sketches feature doomed idiots who are just doing the best they can.
The Incredible Shrinking Matt and Jacquie’s video sketches have been featured in The A.V. Club, the FirstGlance Film Festival and the SketchFest Seattle Film Challenge, and they have opened for Emo Philips, Brent Weinbach, DJ Douggpound, McQueen, and more. Matt & Jacquie have performed in the Toronto Sketchfest, Montreal Sketchfest, NYC Sketch Fest, Philly Sketchfest, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and a showcase for IFC talent scouts produced by Good Good Comedy. They are three-time winners of the Dirtiest Sketch In Philadelphia contest (2013-2015), and were nominated for Comedy Act of The Year at the 2015 Philebrity Awards.
House of Solitude
House of Solitude is a sketch duo from Philadelphia made up of Caitlin Weigel & Daniel Corkery. They have performed in Philly Sketchfest, Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, and at the PIT in New York City. Their 45-minute Tennessee Williams-in-space sketch show, “A Galaxy Uncherished” was called “relentless funny” by Phindie. Their digital sketches and animations have been featured on Comedy Cake and Splitsider. Most of their sketches center around nice people pushed to their breaking points, the embarrassment of being human, and occasionally, the paranormal. Their minimalist style frequently blends animation and live performance.
Mike Butler, Shannon DeVido, Quinton Alexander, and Nina Starner are Adventure Friends. They have been going on sketch comedy adventures together since 2014 with their “Sketch Harold” format. They have performed at PIT Sketchfest in New York as well as Philly Improv Theater’s Black Friday Comedy Marathon. They are also two-time participants in the Dirtiest Sketch in Philadelphia contest.
